My mission is to empower, support and nurture artists to make the art they want to make and to help them reach audiences in the best way possible in order to will bring their art to life.
I studied Drama in Athens before coming to the UK to study Dance and Theatre Arts at the University of Birmingham and then at London Contemporary Dance School.
I started my career as a dance practitioner, educator, choreographer, movement director and performer. In a freelance capacity I have worked as a Project Manager, Producer and Creative Consultant with a varied portfolio of independent dance artists such as Kate Flatt OBE, Sivan Rubinstein, Zoi Dimitriou, Hannes Langolf, Subathra Subramaniam, Moxie Brawl, Leila MacMillan, Georgia Tegou, Xenia Aidonopoulou, Shane Shambhu and Rick Nodine amongst others. She has had a developing relationship with Bloomsbury Festival, where since 2006, I have produced outdoor events. I have recently joined Pagrav Dance Company as the company producer.
In 2014 I was funded by ACE to produce Move Hitchin, a day long festival of dance, in public spaces and stores in my locality. Between 2015-2019 I worked with interdisciplinary Cambridge-based company 30 Bird, delivering projects such as the British Council Funded, Junctures in 2015, HOME in the Service of Science, which was the culmination of the company’s year-long residency at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology.
From 2015 I have also been associate producer with NFA International Arts and Culture and have together with Nelson Fernandez delivered a variety of projects including CPT courses for Producer in Iran and India as well as the staging a national and international tour of Medea, Written in Rage, directed by Neil Bartlett.
I recently consulted The Greek National Opera, Ballet on their international touring strategy.
In parallel Lia I work at The Place since 2005, where I have developed a number of innovative projects for Youth and Family audiences. As a producer and part of the theatre team I runs a complex portfolio of projects that span from theatre performances to Creative Europe co-operation projects with international partners, as well as co-creation projects with youth companies and specialised commissions.
